Creative Writing

While creative writing is different from journalistic styles of writing, I believe that truth can be conveyed still quite effectively. Creative writing allows us to use fiction to tell stories about shared realities or learn about those that are different from our own. By telling stories, we can often reach understandings that mere fact based writing fails to accomplish.

That Belongs to Me

This thesis was completed as a requirement for the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College. It is a compilation of short stories and a novella that focus on themes of connectivity, divorce, expectations vs. reality and inheritance.

Justice Journal

This Justice Journal was written as a class requirement for Prison and the Literary Imagination. It was created with the intent of exploring the truths of the prison system through a creative writing lens. Many of the pieces are based off of literary works as requirements of the assignnments.
